User Experience (UX)

I get asked this question a lot, “what is user experience?

Here’s my condensed answer:

business & user requirements drive content & user requirements drives content & functionality equals user experience

UX involves distilling all the background research (analytics, market data, business & user requirements) in order to package the necessary content in an organized & easy to understand format.

Some of the projects I worked on include:

Sleeman CMS wireframes

Client: Sleeman Breweries (working for Idea Rebel)

MC & IT Website Usability Testing

Client: Canadian Tourism Commission
(working at FCV)

LOKBP Website Information Architecture

Client: League of Kickass Business People
(working at FCV)

Capilano Website User Personas

Client: Self-initiated project

See my notes

  1. What is UX?

  2. Did you know?

    • A great deal of background data analysis goes into prioritizing content to improve user work flow.
    • With my scientific research background, I’m a pro at juggling data, user needs & business requirements.
  3. CTC usability testing

    • This was one of my favourite projects. We conducted both moderated & unmoderated remote user testing with participants in the US and the UK.
