Description

The Moveable Music School is a not-for-profit organization based in Metro Vancouver that brings together players and singers from all walks of life. The school currently offers 20 classes per term. These classes are uniquely held in private homes to ensure courses are affordable to all. A bursary fund is also set up to help those who cannot afford the full cost of courses. No student is turned away.

Previously, information about the school and classes were only available through a mailing list, pamphlets at local community centers and word of mouth. The School Director, Rosemary Campbell, approached us to create a new website from scratch to promote the school that can be easily updated each term. This will allow new & old students to easily find and register for courses. The website had over 1000 hits on the first month of launch.

I was the project manager, information architect and lead web developer for this project. We started the process with simple sitemaps and wireframes to nail down the website requirements, followed by logo design, visual mockups, then finally website development, testing and the site launch.

Feedback on this project:

I showed the site to my students and people involved with the school and everybody said it looks nice and is very easy to use. The students told me that The Moveable Music School was such a difficult concept to explain to their friends, but now they can just link them to the site and it explains everything. Thank you for making this happen.
